Dare and Care

About EBS

The European Business Summit is the number one meeting place between high-level decision-makers and business people in Europe. This year the 7h edition of the EBS will take place on 26 and 27 March 2009 in Brussels. Theme is: “Dare and Care: towards a sustainable Europe – Financing, Staffing and Greening“In order to be a strong and sustainable world player in the future, Europe should Dare and Care better. Daring means that Europe needs to become more entrepreneurial. Doing business in the EU must become easier and more rewarding. Europe should take the lead in R&D and (eco)innovation. More growth and jobs should no longer be a slogan, but a practice.

Caring implies taking care of the planet and the people. Economic progress should go hand in hand with a greening society and social protection of a better skilled workforce. A strong economy, ecological protection and social dynamism are the pillars of sustainability. They will also be the recipe of Europe’s future success. Therefore, they form the three building blocks of this EBS: Financing (blue), Staffing (red) and Greening (green).

We have, in cooperation with the European Commission and the Czech EU Presidency, developed a varied programme with three plenary sessions and fifteen workshops, built around the blue / red / green themes. Business leaders will discuss with high-level decision makers, academics and NGOs from around the world issues like the financial crisis, clean tech innovation, skills, climate change and energy and ageing. The goal is to come up with concrete solutions for a sustainable Europe that is really Daring and Caring.

Of course, the EBS also offers ample opportunities for networking and business contacts.

Do not miss this opportunity to be part of this high-level summit. Find more information on this EBS website and register online as off mid-October.

On behalf of BUSINESSEUROPE and the Federation of Enterprises in Belgium (FEB) we look forward to welcoming you at the 7th EBS on 26 and 27 March 2009.
